We are all too aware of the findings and conclusions from many environmental reports over the past decade or so about the negative impact of dairy farming and its respective supply and food chains. It is well understood that for all dairy systems, improved efficiency of milk production helps to reduce the negative environmental effects.
Many already recognize that improving cow health, fertility and the creation of smarter farm systems and food chains will not only reduce the environmental impact but it has the substantial advantage that it will also benefit cow welfare and farm financial return. This is a significant win-win for all.
